Every Georgian deserves a path to economic opportunity and an income that supports their family. To get there, we need leaders who can prioritize our economic stability and prosperity, especially in times of crisis. Even before the pandemic, too many Georgians were being left behind the state’s economic growth.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on Georgia’s economy. With Georgia's mismanaged reopening, unemployment remains at double the pre-pandemic levels. Small businesses have been hardest hit, both in terms of loss of income and in difficulty accessing relief money. We need leaders who will make tough decisions to ensure real, long-term economic recovery. We need to look to the future and imagine the Georgia we want our children to inherit.

As representative of State House District 45, I will work to:

  • Protect both workers and small businesses by expediting access to loans and federal support; underwriting loan guarantees, with set-asides for minority-  and women-owned businesses; supporting paid sick and family leave policies; and supporting affordable local childcare options.

  • Tighten oversight for tax credit programs, including the film tax credit, to ensure that Georgia taxpayers are getting value and jobs for their investment.

  • Enact an earned income tax credit and raise the minimum wage to keep more money in the pockets of Georgians.

  • Expand Medicaid creating more than 50,000 new jobs.

  • Invest in green industries such as renewable energy, investing in job readiness programs including apprenticeship programs and technical training, and expanding broadband and other infrastructure projects that will allow both for flexible working arrangements and greater access for workers with disabilities.
